My Name is Cameron
I’m passionate about the media business. Its societal impact far outstrips its contribution to GDP. It shapes our mental health, cultural norms, and political discourse. It’s also endlessly fascinating: complex, constantly changing, and often an early indicator of technological shifts across the broader economy.
Media informs much of how we see the world. It is the primary tool of conveying societal norms. It is also the lens through which we interpret most information outside of our direct experience, including what we believe to be true and righteous, false and detestable.
Media is a tool of mass coordination, for good or ill. In Sapiens, Yuval Harari argued that our success as a species is due to our ability to coordinate at scale and the mechanism of that coordination is shared stories. These stories are no longer conveyed around a campfire, but through a phone screen, algorithmically filtered and globally distributed in seconds. That shift fascinates me.
I'm drawn to media because of its complexity. It lives at the intersection of creativity and commerce, personal connection and broad influence, inspiration and responsibility. Working in media means operating in a space where emotion meets analytics, where storytelling meets systems. It's a space that requires empathy, creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of people. That’s exactly where I thrive.
Whether I’m developing content strategies, coordinating events, analyzing audience data, or creating campaigns, I’m always thinking about impact. How is this shaping someone’s worldview? What kind of experiences are we creating and for whom? What emotions are we evoking, and what actions might they inspire?
I want to be part of building media systems that are more inclusive, imaginative, and human-centered. That means highlighting diverse voices, thoughtfully exploring new ideas, and embracing creative approaches. Media can be complex and unpredictable, but I believe that’s what makes it such a powerful force for meaningful change.
If you're looking for a battle ready hire who brings both heart and strategy to the table, someone who approaches challenges with resilience, balances creative insight with data-driven decision-making, and is committed to delivering results with integrity and collaboration, I would be grateful for the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and continue growing within a forward-thinking team.
